No longer a newbie, but still clueless.
On WTSO now.
Where the warmest winegrowing region in all of Washington State is balanced by the cooling effect of the nearby Yakima River, the Red Mountain AVA allows Cabernet Sauvignon to reach ideal ripeness levels while retaining lively acidity. This 2013 Reserve bottling from the Ross Andrew Winery is a classic Cabernet that will easily rival many of its Napa Valley counterparts. Mouthwatering black currant, black cherry, inflections of new oak, and a substantially expressive finish are inviting now, but the structure of this red points to a graceful evolution as well. If you've had any doubts about Washington wines, give this one a try!
"On the palate the wine immediately unfolds into a broad mouth-filling cab with black currant, boysenberry and blackberries leading into a mid - palate of extremely fine grained tannins that immediate speak of Red Mountain." ~Ross Andrew Winery
