I am thinking of starting another batch with this product. I am new to wine making and have been reading topics on MLF with frozen grapes and juices. Is MLF necessary with MM's All Juice Natural? I have read that MLF is a no-no for kit wines.

Has anyone tried this montepulciano from MM?

MLF is not recommended with kit wines because they have much higher amounts of Malic Acid due to the way they are processed. If MLF were to occur, the high proportion of malic acid would be converted to lactic resulting in a wine with very little acid and a pH probably above 3.8. Leaving it weak (flat), soft, and vulnerable to bacterial infections and spoilage.

I was just looking at the Montepulciano this AM. I think that is the only Italian varietal from MM that I have yet to make. They also make a Renaissance version as well.

Thanks...I plan making it next time.

What about their fresco line. I know it is not available now and won't be until the fall
