I'd like to see some feedback from someone that has made the Amarone with both of these kits and which one you'd pick over the other.

If both get good reviews then using game theory solution you need to make both and blend.

making both is out of budget, maybe 1 if I'm lucky...
Have you made the Amarone?

Varis,

I don't know if it is even a consideration for you, but I sampled my En Primeur Amarone again last night after barrel aging and cold stabilization and it's excellent. Even at it's young age, I'm finding it comparable to the few commercial Amarones I've had. I'm very, very pleased with it (and the EP Pinot Noir I started shortly after the Amarone).

Thanks Jim.

my LHBS only offers the Winery Series and will check with them but I think they told me long time ago that the RJS EP was in the $160, let me check.
At the same rate I wonder how much different the EP would be compared to the WS.

Does the EP have 16L or 18L plus the grape skins?
The WS is a 16L plus grape skins.

Thanks,

No, I've not made Amarone but it could be the next 'big" kit that I do.

My friend John makes an Amarone that has been to my taste the best wine I've ever drunk. I'm not certain whether John makes his Amarone from kit or pail. I do know he shops @ Maltose Express to get most of his stuff.

Thanks,

It's an 18L with dried skins and raisins. I used the skins in primary and raisins in secondary a la joeswine

Ok, so it is 18L of juice plus the skins.....good to know.
Thanks.
