We ALL need to sign this petition and send it to our state representatives.

Enough of this BS!

It's a monopoly trying to protect itself from becoming outdated and not needed.
The only reason the State's Attorneys are signing on in support is that they don't want to deal with the court cases.
Honestly, do you think a kid is going to order a case of Cline Red Zinfandel 2007? No, they are going to "Hey Mister" the bum outside the liquor store for a 30 pack of Keystone and a handle of cheap vodka.

I did the thing at Free the Grapes. Sent it to friends and family too

You can't have wine shipped to you in Utah. You can have it shipped to a state owned liquor store for a huge fee though.

the HelloVino guy that was in a week ago spoke to me about this...its just like it is in many states with tobacco.....there are distributors in between

I find it entertaining when alcohol distribution laws are made with the concept of preventing alcoholism. I seriously question the statement made by Wolf in the article where he feels that the three tier distribution system (originally setup around Prohibition, mind you) protects the U.S. from the problems that other countries face with alcoholism. Fritz, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the U.S. was one of the worst in the world.
I do have to chuckle knowing that these kinds of laws are the reason we have a notice on a shipping labels 'Do not deliver to an intoxicated person.' Can you imagine some intoxicated person ordering wine to be shipped and expecting to continue to be intoxicated when it was delivered? One could argue that this is a benchmark of the average intellectual capacity of our lawmakers.

We lived in CA for almost 2 years. We kept a wine club membership but could not ship it to TX. We used a 3rd party distributor (Insert friend here) to help us out. It was double shipping but at least we got our quarterly wine shipment. Then the laws in TX changed. It's all about the distributors making a buck.

I am curious as to the response I get from our senator. I signed the Free the Grapes and sent that one in but I also sent emails to the rest of the Fla Reps. including our 1 senator - the other has 1 1/2 feet already out out the door and never responds.

I sent emails to both my Senators and my House rep. Will see if I get any response back from any of them. At least NM is one of the states you CAN ship wine too.

I would like it to stay that way!

its kind of like the tobacco business....politicians beat the hell out of the industry but wont shut it down because they like the billions in taxes from sales....

they are all frauds

It's all about big business and lobby that they support. The average citizen doesn't have a chance. I sent the letters and will wait for the form letter reply that they are listening.

Do you know if the bill has been released from committee or if it has been scheduled for a vote by the house?
