Anybody catch the "world" premiere this weekend? LOL

Discovery Channel. Our oldest daughter is a Lead Editor on the show. Seems very similar to American Chopper in the look and feel. Family run business only this time they are making very expensive high priced hunting knifes. Lots of machine shop screw ups and family drama of course.

Check it out if you get a chance! :>

yep, seen it, another over dramatic family that'll make millions just by yelling at each other on TV....lol

I used to love American Chopper. They were not too far from me, and I would get very teary-eyed. It was just like working for my father again.

The only show that I see that is truely "Reality" is Desadliest Catch. No matter how you slice it, those are real crab, real 60 foot waves, real blood on their faces, and real ice on those ships.

The American Chopper guys are about 20 mins from me, they are douche bags, in real life, everyone who has met them says the same thing. Let's face it, they got rich by screaming at each other....

I have a buddy in Port Jarvis and he runs across them all the time. He says that he could always see them on the side of the road when their bikes would always break down.

A buddy of his actually went to school with Mikey. According to him, Mikey supposedly has done so much drugs that he has no brain left. This is why he was set up as an artist, all he has the brains for now is fingerpainting (no offense to real artists).

Still, I watched American Chopper for entertainment and not reality. Lets face it, other than "Deadliest Catch", all of these reality shows have nothing to do with reality.

The first show our daughter worked on was Crime 360 on A&E. I think it only lasted 2 seasons. I think you can find it on Netflix. It was about as close as you can get to reality as the film crew followed homicide detectives around on certain cases and just filmed them as they went about their jobs of trying to solve the murder case. Unlike CSI though quite a few cases were actually NEVER solved which people seem to forget happens in REAL LIFE!

As for Deadliest Catch there is a lot of made of drama there as well. The dangers are real like the drowning and ice and rogue waves but much of the arguments and disagreements are just plain made up or blown up all out of proportion in order to make things look more dramatic than they actually were in real life.

I no doubt agree with you. I am sure that they edit to entertain and also play up for the cameras. It just seems like there would be less of it in this show. Like you said, those are real live crab, real life ice on the deck, real live blood on their faces, Real life 60 foot waves, etc.

I did not think about crime 360. I agree that this show would win the "most real" contest.

Oh no you guys got it all wrong, it is Duck Dynesty that would win the most real show out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :tz:tz:tz

Julie,

I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!!! I am a big fan, but common, this is staged.

For example: I would not even be in the same room if Sy had a tazer or a pair of handcuffs!

LOL, so do I and sometimes I wonder if it is staged, it's hard to believe that someone came up with this crap before it happens, :)
