I've recently changed all my wine bottling to Bombers (aka, Belly Busters) and crown caps. It was more of a cost move. So far, I've bottled two of my wines this way. I'm using oxycaps and able to fill the bottles 23-24oz

Are there other users using this method? What's been your experience.

I put all my Skeeter Pee in 12 ounces under crown caps. No long term aging though. It is more cost effective than corks and easier/faster opening.

From what I read, champagne stays under crown cap, from 1 to 3 years during triage. One to three years is long enough for most fruit based wines or happy drinkers.

I bottled a Apple Wine and Metheglin this year using bombers/cap I guess will see how good they last under crown cap.

Regards,
John
