Bosc Pears

Has anybody made cider or wine from these pears. My apple source may have fallen through. The orchard below me has about 20 of these trees that they don't pick because they are for cross pollination of the Bartlett pears in the orchard. Since my press is finished I was thinking about making some cider. My wife likes cider so I figure this would be a win win for me. I may have to make a grinder now or is there a simpler way to extract juice from these free pears. Any links, advice or recipes for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

If they're hard, pick them and let them sit. Eat one every few days, then every day, until the juice runs down your forearms. When you make it that far, press them.
