Snow showers most of today so a good day to do some work in the Winery! This was my 2nd kit, and started last July. The CC Showcase Walla Walla Cabernet Merlot with crushed grape pack.

This one came pretty highly rated from several people on the forums. It has been bulk aged for 7 months in glass carboy. I left the oak cubes in for 3 months which was the same amount of time as my Red Mountain Cabernet. Tasting notes of the left over glass, its still young but showing outstanding promise. It has settled down quite nicely these last 4 months since I last did a taste test. Nice acidity, good mouthfeel and VERY peppery at the moment like an Aussie Shiraz. Very nice hints of vanilla as well. It is definitely softer than the Red Mountain Cabernet. The Merlot is doing its part here in this blend. Not sure what the exact ratio is but probably something in the 65% Cab/35% Merlot would be my guess. Looking forward to letting this one sit in the bottle for another 6 months before cracking the first one open sometime late this Summer.

Thanks guys, the flash has certainly made the labels jump out, thats for sure, the color is really off on these snaps......

The labels are MUCH more subdued in real life!

Mike,

Love your labels, you have a great eye for graphic design.

How are you printing these labels? Do you use a ink-jet printer with Avery style labels?

I just went there and loved the place, but don't want to pay the $20 for 30 labels. I do think these are far better then anything else I have seen or made. Good job!!!

They just raised their prices 50% and I asked the proprietor what made him raise prices 50% in a recession........

He came back with an excuse of they have never had a price increase since they opened and they are now using an even better printer and that their prices are still cheaper than any other competitor, blah blah blah.....

I like their labels and if I could find another site with just as good for cheaper I would switch but so far I have not.......

I will probably order from them again and grumble, grumble grumble as I do but the bottom line is I like their labels and they do get them out to you in less than a week so the TAT is pretty good.

I liked them a lot more at $0.50 a label than $0.75 a label though!

I would agree they are the best labels I have seen. Let us know if you find another site.

Not sure if you saw that you can actually make your label and look/download a full PDF preview as it would be printed.

There is no watermark printed through it........

That said their stuff is also waterproof and can be easily peeled off when the bottle is empty.

Mike thanks for sharing. I have commented to my wife that your labels are always impressive. While $20+ per order is a bit, when your doing only the higher end kits like your doing, I think it warrants it. Appearance is a first impression no matter what, and your finished bottles always appear pretty stellar. Now send me up a bottle of that Red Mtn. Cab and let me see if the wine tastes as good as the bottles look....
