Here's another that explains such a wide difference in B. bruxellensis cell morphology, which is driving me nuts when trying to compare my slides with others out on the great wide web to help determine what I'm seeing. This paper also presents the possibility of considering environmental characteristics (such as SO2 sensitivity) based on cell morphology.

"The polymorphism of yeast cells among B. bruxellensis species clearly appears to be related to the genetic group of isolates. Therefore, assessing cell morphology could allow us to predict the genetic group of isolates, itself linked to their SO2 resistance."; "In B. bruxellensis, it turns out that GG4, which presented this feature, is mainly composed of SO2 resistant/tolerant strains [(Figure 3d)]."
