Campden tablets

The last set of campden tabs I had I could break apart with my fingers. The new package I cannot. Can they be added to the wine as whole tablets. Do I have to let them dissolve in the wine for a little while and than come back and stir?

Why don't you try crushing them between two spoons then add the crushed particles a little warm water stirring with the spoons you used to crush the tabs... I believe that Campden tabs don't dissolve easily in alcohol but do in water...
