Can I recycle k-meta?

Hi, I had a quick question about re-using k-meta?
I made a gallon jug of k-meta tonight to sterilize some bottles that I plan on using this weekend. I used a funnel and poured the k-meta from the gallon jug into a few of the 750ml bottles and let it sit for a few minutes, then took each 750ml bottle and dumped that into more 750ml bottles and let them sit for a few mins. Is that ok? I did that step multiple times to sterilize all my bottles and then when done I dumped all that K-meta solution back into the gallon jug and put the lid on. Can I save the used k-meta solution or do you think it's no good once I used it to sanitize the bottles?

I keep meta in all of my empty carboys. When I use one I just dump it into another. As long as you still have the strong meta smell you're ok.

Cool, Yeah, it's still strong and gives me a sulphite headache when I open it. Thanks!

Kate, just a caution. It is not good to inhale sulfur gases so don't take a big "sniff" when you are checking the solution. Best way is to keep the top of the container at about "nose level" with your nose about 6" away and "pull" the gas toward your nose with your hand.

I use recycled K-meta to put in my carboys with a solid bung when not in use. When I sanitize my bottles prior to bottling I always use fresh K-meta. I put a lot of effort into having a clear wine so I don't want to jeopardize that by having small bits of "stuff" in my finished product. Just my way of doing things. Good Luck!!
