Since I use box-shaped carboys, I have made a carboy bladder that will minimize the air headspace. What do you think about this?

It has two tubes with faucets attached. One tube to inflate the bladder, and one tube that indicates when all air is pressed out.

As a bladder, I use a plastic bag that is made for storing food.

Sand, you don't show the "bladder" in the carboy, but I'd be concerned about anything that blocks gas from getting out. For example, CO2 unable to get out may be forced into solution.

Thank you for your comments.

To solve this, you can push out air until you see fluid raising in the tube. Then, let out air from the bladder until there is no fluid in the tube. Then you can remove the tube and replace it with an airlock.

Or you may just mount an airlock on top of the tube.
