Hi Everyone,

I see that spring has finally landed for you guys up north and you are gettting your vines going. Everything looks great and as always I enjoy all of your pictures.

As most of you know I have been in the process of moving and getting settled in my house, well, still not quite settled. So much I want to do but will take time. My winemaking has been on the back burner for now but will get things going soon again.

Unfortunately, during the past few weeks I have been having alot of stomach pain and found out yesterday through a HIDA Scan that my gallbladder is not functioning so.......surgery is next. I'm going to try to put it off for a little while,,,if I can stand the pain or keep it under control.

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone and hope to be more active on the forum soon.

Yikes!!!!!! That doesn't sound good! Tell your gallbladder to settle itself right down and leave you alone!!!!

Ramona don't put it off long! As you know the operation is quite simple nowdays and the consequences of not having it done aren't simple. My wife finally gave in and had hers removed only to find out the stones were in her liver too from the gallbladder and blocked the ducts, poisoning her and starting to kill her liver. She got VERY sick and I was lucky to drag her to the hospital when I did. They operated on her that same day and two days later she felt much better. GET IT DONE SOON!

Bill, you have been busy. I bet you feel like you have a vacation at home with all the nice things you have going there.

And Richard, I remember your story about your wife. I thought of that first thing. I won't wait too long, but I have a 2500.00 deductable and my last penny went to getting into this house. I don't have stones thank goodness it's just not working. Wine doesn't seem to bother me......Wheew!!

Ramona..they can jerk it out through your navel now a days. Almost an outpatient surgery. Hope you get better quick...dontwant my buddies feeling puny

All that is good Bill as long as you get your butt back in gear when them blackberries get ready. You are the man when it comes to Blackberry wine !!!

Ramona....Gall Bladder pain is pretty intense...I suffered with it till all my pain killers were gone...then had an ultra sound and had to wait a bit for surgery....NO</font> </font>Fat in your diet helps till you can get it taken care of....Look in you pantry....there is food with NO fat...Like rice, carrots, tomato soup...and for desert you may have marshmallows....I really had to hunt for food with zero fat to get me through a weekend till surgery.

I had a large stone working into my liver...first they were concerned why my liver was so enlarged...then they figured it out with the ultra sound....The surgery was easy...4 little scars is all I have from that surgery...hard to see them with all the other scars these days.

I too have $2600 out of pocket expenses before Blue Cross pays 100%...I just live with it...Besides the cost of the yearly insurance</font></font> premium</font></font>....I just know that every year I pay that to feel good.

Do what they want....then negotiate your payments to the hospital/clinic....they usually take payments/no interest...Don't worry about the money part of it...things work out.

I hope you feel better soon.....

I am living on the edge too....My last CT Scan 2 months ago showed an 'area of concern'...another lump....do another CT Scan next Wednesday to see if the tumor has grown...then....? Chemo...? ...?

Do what your Doctors have to do....

Ramona....As Northern said take care of your self and not put things like that off
Northern...I do hope every thing come out OK for you...Will be thinking about you..

NW and Bert,
I'm lucky in a big way. Eventhough I will have to pay the hospital, I was able to get the Hida scan free and the surgeon will do the surgery free because I work for one of the most popular doctors in Houston. I guess I just haven't resigned myself to the fact the surgery is the only cure. And not ready to have it just yet. I have an appointment with the surgeon on the 28th...sooner if I can't wait.

NW, I hope that your scan will be negative. I schedule the tests for patients and almost all of them come back negative even when something has shown up on a previous scan. I will be thinking of you. Please let us know what the results are.

Romona

Good luck on the surgery we will be praying for you. Just don't stay from the forum too long - we sure like and need your input. Take care of yourself and can you sneak a bottle of wine in to the hospital? for medicinal purposes only, of course. Take care.

OK, we have preached at you enough. Please don't put it off any longer than you have to. I am sure you have an idea of how they do it and as has been stated, it is almost outpatient. I am sure finances are tough though with the recent big ticket item you just obtained. Keep me advised and if theirs anything I can do for ya, just let me know. I can hop in the truck and be over there in a jiffy!

Thanks for your concern. You all are the best. I have been feeling ok the past couple of days but have been watching what I eat. I know it's not going to get better but will see how it goes for a couple of weeks.

Smurfe,,,,come on over anytime!!
