Chemistry Chest

After talking to DJROCKINSTEVE we realized we were both facing the same issue. How to safely and conveniently to store all of our chemicals and testing equipment. Wall cabinets seemed like the logical solution if you had the space. Thats when I came up with the idea of a rolling chest of drawers. After pricing out all the cheapies at Sam's Club and the big box stores I came up with the idea of the rolling tool box. I found one at Sears for the same price as the chinsy roll about carts at the other stores and at $189.00 about the same as buying cabinets. Below I attached pictures showing how I hooked up electricity to it and added a work space. I measured my bottles ahead of time to ensure the drawers were tall enough. This also has the benefits of being able to lock it up.

Thats for that dang sulfate. When you buy the big jars, there are always clumps to bust up

Yup. Got the chest yesterday and only assembly required was the wheels. This morning picked up a 2x4x3/4 piece of oak and misc stuff for the electrical box for all less than $35.00 I cut the oak down to 2x3 routered the edges and stained. Then put the electrical box together and was done by noon. I will put two coats of protector on it.

Heck of a nice set up there Dan, My basement unfortunately I wouldn't be able to wheel that thing around. Very nice toys you have stocked the chest with as well.

Hehehe today I added a hook on the side of it to put the rolled up cord on when not in use or while I am rolling it around. Also picked up some little plastic baskets from Walmarts kitchen dept to hold the chemicals for each test and also the glassware.
