I have bought more of the clearing agent and used it all but still my white wine pinot grigio not clear plz help??
I have degassed then added finnings a& b
It is in a plastic carboy from a fermenting bucket??
Can I bottle it cloudy and drink it???????

I've read through your other postings and see you've made a lot of effort in getting this right. I'd say you're almost there. While you can probably bottle and drink the wine as is, I wouldn't do it. Cloudy wine will not clear in the bottle and with your effort it would be a shame to stop so close to the end.

In all likelihood, your wine probably needs some time to clear - perhaps a week or so to see results. Let us know a few things that may have been in earlier posts, but I didn't see them. What was the hydrometer reading when fermentation ended - prior to adding k-meta? When was that? How do you know the wine's fully degassed? When did you add the clearing agent and which one did you use?

Never use the hydrometer I left in primary for bout 3-4weeks well after airlock stopped bubbling and followed instructions after racking to carboy I degassed by stirring hard and shaking carboy vigorously cos got no other way to degassed I have tried degassing again so gonna leave for week or so !!!!

baz, you're coming up on the hardest thing to do in wine making: nothing. My guess is that you stirred everything back into solution when you degassed and added clearing agents. Leave it for a while. If it's in an area that gets light, put a towel around it and leave it alone for a while - at least a week. Then check to see if wine is starting to clear. Bottling could be in March or April.

Was hoping to bottle soon cos have got a red wine in primary that was gna rack to carboy!!
So will red wine be ok to stay in my primary fermentation bucket????
Thanks for your help tony mate!! :)

What happened? Looking back, I saw your first post said the white would be your first and last experience. Did you get the bug?

You'll have a difficult (if not, impossible) time making two batches of wine simultaneously with what you've got. The Pinot Grigio will take at least 3 weeks to clear, possibly longer. There's no way you should have the red in primary for that long; I wouldn't go over 7-10 days, max. Either wait until you're ready to bottle before you start the next one or get a second carboy, preferably glass.

While you're at it, you'll need another airlock and bung. Also get a hydrometer.

1+ on the hydrometer, without it you never really know if it is done or stuck.

Yes. You can rack the red to a couple of buckets, clean the carboy (very, very well then sterilize) and simply transfer it back to the carboy from whence it came. Use a siphon if possible. Pouring will mostly defeat the point of racking.
