CO2 instead of topping up

Purging with CO2 will displace the O2 in the headspace. The issue is what do you do to keep O2 from getting back in.

If you used the headspace eliminator you would keep the carboy under vacuum - not letting any oxygen in - correct ?
 
If you have ever waited for beer to carb under PRESSURE you know that the sparkling wine concern under NO PRESSURE is really nonsense.
