Sorry for the double post. I posted this in the beginners section and then realized it is more appropriate to this forum.

I am making two batches of wine from purchased juice. It's day two of fermation. I ahve been very careful about sterlization of everything that comes in contact with the juice. The fermentation takes place in the juice bucket that the juice came in. It already has the yeast and is balanced. This juice set in a warehouse and you simply leave the lid on top of the bucket loosely during fermentation. I accidentally dropped a lid and a small portion of it entered the must. I quickly extracted it. This lid has never been cleaned from the warehouse and had some juice from the vent dried on top. Have I contaminated the juice? Will it be any good

You're fine. Providing you have followed cleanliness prior it will be okay. You may relax now.

That is a relief to hear. It's just that everything you read preaches cleanliness. So i don't need to add campden tablets or anything yet? My instructions call for potassium sorbate and potassium metabisulphite at stablization. That should be adequate? Thanks for your help.
