Cooking pot for making syrup in?

Is there any type of Metal or pot that should be avoided for making a sugar syrup? I remember reading somthing about a certain type that should be avoided but I can not remember what it was. Thanks, Lynn
 
If you are using any type of acid such as citric in your syrup you want to avoid using aluminum and copper pots and stick with stainless steel.
