hi All,

Just curious how long is the mosti alljuice good for once it is packaged? does it have a one year shelf life? I purchased an all juice kit from a local supplier and the date code is 70922. so i assume 2007, 9th month 22nd day is this correct? and how long is it good for according to Mosti? Did i purchase a wine past it's expiration date?

You are correct about the date and they are usually good for 1 year after its date but many have made them after that but i would replace the yeast or at least do a yeast starter to make sure the yeast is good, I hope you got this juice for a real good price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure the juice looks red and not brown as that would indicate oxidation.

George says they have done some kits that were 2 years old, and did not have a problem.

I'm with Wade.... I hope you got this at a real good price.

Thanks,. I paid 100.00 dollars and i did make it already and it fermented fine but i will be looking at date codes in the future. Thanks!!!!!

I'm making aRenaissance (16L) Shiraz kit for a friend of mine that has a date code of 71005. I started it on July 1 and got absolultely no fermentation. Talking with Joseph, we surmised the yeast was dead so I added a yeast packet from another kit. VIOLA!!! Strong fermentation right away. I always taste the must and this kit tasted fine so I expect it to make good wine. Only time will tell.

Gotta have fresh yeast!!!
