I have not seen any issues measuring it against a regular refractometer. You will always get a different reading then you would with a hydrometer though due to C02 in the sample and solids. Temperature also plays a role.

Mind if I ask where you got it and how much you paid?

I bought it on Amazon and paid $139. back then. They are closer to $170 now.

I am not a huge Hanna fan, but I have been very happy with their refractometer. I don't have any experience or hearsay to offer about the Milwaukee.

What's the biggest difference between a regular refractometer (20-30 $) and the digital ones (110 to 170 $)? How best to justify that cost difference guys?

I've got a regular one. It's ok, but was looking something a little easier for these bad eyes to see.

Ordered it on Thursday and got it today. Wow.

1st impression, this thing is huge. Looked small in the picture. But that's ok, the screen I can read without reading glasses.

I ordered a case for it today.

I'll do some testing to see how accurate it is.
