BTW Cork, the Mother in Law swears they are wild elderberries. Says she grew up with em and knows that is what they are.
 
They sure do look like wild elderberries. Just be careful. There are two types of wild elderberries. One has red berries and has much more toxicity than the other- blue or black elderberries. Around my place, the red ones flower very early and the birds eat all the red berries. The more edible black ones flower like in July and ripen in late August -September.
 
Then I shall have to see what berries ripen if any. We do warm up quite a bit quicker than you do down here. So we shall see what comes in a few more weeks....
