Started an En Primeur Cabernet Sauvignon kit on 8/4 racked to the secondary on 8/12 with an SG of 1.000 (+ or - broke my original tester), 9/7 musk is still at 1.000. What do you think I should do, leave it alone, stir it every day or rack it? Does 30 days extra in the secondary hurt? Thanks. bk

Degass and see if it changes.

The online instructions say .998 or less. 1.000 is darn close to .998. Have you checked the accuarcy of your hydrometer. What temperature is the wine at, and what temp is your hydrometer calibrated at?

30 extra days in a carboy under air lock won't hurt it.

Did what Tom suggested, and will check in a couple of weeks. bk

I always ferment to dry in bucket with these and have never had a finished sg above .996 but 1.000 isnt anything ai would worry about if it did happen to me.
