I purchased a shurflo pump and enjoyed using it. Didn't have to lift carboys, saving my back.

Two questions I need clarification on after my first use.

1. Cleaning inside the pump, how do you do it? I sanitized it by putting one end of the hose in sanitizer, running the pump, sanitize the inside. For cleaning it I just ran water on the inside, couldn't find a better solution.

2. When pumping from full carboy to empty, it appeared to have a decent amount of air bubbling as evident from the bubbles on the surface of the wine. Is this something to be concerned about? If so how do I remedy.

Thank You

1- That is the only way you really can sanitize this type of pump - unless you want to break it down - not suggested

2-surface of the wine - could be just agitation from the pump,
do you have air bubbles passing thru the out take of the hose ?

It appears to be the co2 from the wine. Im just not used to the "bubbling" created by the pump for the wine in the new carboy

Do you store the pump sanitized or just sanitize again before use?

I would rinse it after each use and then sanitize it prior to using it - just my personal preference.
