I have a 5 micron filter that when I was done I rinsed it with pure water, then ran water with campden tablets let it drain and then stuck it in a freezer bag and in the freezer.

My question is can I re use it or are they a one time used filter?

OK. Thanks that's what I needed to know.

Now can I filter my banana and then filter my mixed berry without problems with a new filter?

Which filter pads??

The Buon Vino ones are 1 time use.

The ones used in the whole house filter are reusable..

Yeah - they usually have a gallon rating - xx amount of gallons it is good for.

Clean the out afterwards and some freeze them - others store in k-meta solution.

I am looking at switching to this - saves time and money - the buon vino pads coast about $4 per set - and you have to throw them away...

I cleaned it and stored it in the freezer.

Also I cleaned it in a solution of 1 gal water and 3 campden tablets, is that enough? This was after running about 3 gal. backwards through it.

Great. Thanks all.

Put super kleer in my banana wine and its clear but not clear enough, I'm going to run it through it to polish it up a little then if its good I'll bottle it next week, then in a corner for its wait for its 1st birthday.

Have no idea - was asking for my own reference in the future...

If is not - I am sure someone will inform us..

I believe that there ia an article some where on this forum that talks about if you freeze the filters it will break the media, causing the filter to inafficient. The best from my memory was to store it in a meta solution.

The cheaper filters (under 5 dollars ) I consider them 1 time use.

Well that's a bust, my power supply went out. Guess that's what I get for running a 5 amp pump on a 1.5 amp power supply. Lol. Oh well I got a 5 coming so I'm good, won't hurt for it to sit in it carboy a few more days.
