I received my first kit and deluxe starter package at 11:30 am today.
I pitched the yeast at 4:30 pm. It only took one call to George to clarify a few points. (RJS Cellar Classic, Winery Series- Washington Merlot with grape skins)

Day one was a success!!!

you make a good point...the owner of FVW is accessible and helpful

Starting off with a Winery Series, Nice! The wait will be hard though. Just make sure you try and save one bottle for like 2 years just so you see what these can see what these kits can produce!

I couldn't believe it. I expected some customer service rep to answer. But no, I could tell immediately from watching the videos several times,
IT WAS GEORGE.
I had started to ask the questions on the forum, but I really needed the answers "now", so I decided to call instead. I got the answers immediately and was able to speak with George himself. What a delightful conversation we had.

Wade,

It sure will be difficult to wait---but I will---and saveas many as I can. I plan to start a Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay soon. I'll be able to imbibe a little sooner. Any suggestions? I don't mind paying extra for the premium kits.

You go Mike! You got a red going, couple of whites soon to be on deck. When you calculate how much wine you need to make each year don't forget how many bottles you will want to give away. Soon you'll need a few more carboys for long term aging. Oh Mike . . . jump in the water's fine!

Then you start those dang fruit wines...... Be ready for it to get out of control!!! Haha

P.S. If you like Port.... I highly recommend the Mosti La Bodega Port.

Hehehehehe.....

Welcome to WMA (Wine Makers Anonymous) we meet here daily to discuss our addiction to fermenting things.

George is the best in the business, bar none!

This can get really out of hand. Don't forget to lock the wine cellar door!

Flem, I just picked up a MM Masters Pinot Grigio and have it in the primary as we speak. According to Joseph this one of the bestItalian style PG (dry, citrusey). If you want an off dry kit give them a call as there are others that they will likely recommend.
