Lately I've been getting 8+ gallons of wine after the first racking with 100 lbs since I've changed my pressing practice. Once I do a light to medium press the skins are removed, fluffed and pressed again. There is much less pressure required to extract the additional wine. The same thing is done a second time making three presses. It's amazing how much wine you can get and how dry the skins are without pressing too hard. If I can find them I was thinking of using rice hulls this fall.
