New to the forum 25 vines Marquette and Brianna
First time of ever having frost, kill off growth.
Was wondering if I should prune off all the dead shoots or wait for regrowth. thanks for any advice.

Some people will trim off the dead stuff but be careful if you do not to damage any secondary buds still there that did not freeze. These will become the replacement for the vines for this year.

Thank you for your advice, this forum is really nice to newcomers.
I'm going to wait to see what happens to the damaged shoots and where the new growth comes from, hopefully to learn for future reference.

The dilemma now is covering vs water treatment.
Not easy for acres of vineyard but for backyarders possible.
The normal procedure in MN is to cover for frost, ( worked in the past ) for me not this time, row covers, sheets, canvas painters tarps no match for Mother Natures frost. It seemed where the covering touched the tender vines frost killed.

Didn't hear how well the water treatment worked.

Water is commonly used around here for cherries. My neighbor has impact sprinklers 15 ft or so in the air that come on automatically and spray the blossoms. Kinda weird looking in the morning with frozen branches and blossoms, but it works. Grapes are later so I haven't had the problem with frost, but they've been using water around here for a century or so on the trees. For 25 vines sprinklers may be easier than covering.

Frost damage update: glad you all said to wait and see. Looks like life is back and if there are grapes soon, they will have time to ripenImageUploadedByWine Making1463843585.252522.jpg Thanks for the help.
