I've been a lurker for a few months, not actively participating - sorry. I've been winemaking in small batches for about 8 years, 5L batches and the odd 20L. Although after discovering All-Grain brewing which is very exciting I had lost touch with the old demijohns but back into it, fermenting anything that does not move.

Plnoklab, welcome and glad to have you on board. We have several members from Australia we haven't heard from in a while. Sounds like your really getting into it. What's fermenting right now?

Plonklab, welcome to the forum. It has alsways been our desire to visit Australia and New Zealand but time is running low and we may not be able to do so. When I was in Junior High School, we studied Australia for half the year in 8th grade and I have had a great interest in your Country since that time. Happy Australia day!

Plonklab, welcome aboard! Would love to hear more about your experiences in wine making in Australia!

Runningwolf, currently fermenting: Mango, Banana and starting a Raisin and Lychee shortly. I've got 7 empty demijohns which shouldn't be so working on fixing that too.

It's funny, what got me back into wine was Iced Tea. I'm in the tropics and it's always quite warm and especially so right now. I make iced tea almost every day, I'ts so refreshing and a good pick-me-up and I love experimenting with it, adding hints of fragrant herbs, spices, citrus, fruit, etc.

I was sipping some a couple months ago and thought to myself, "I could sooo ferment this". So I did.

What I ended up with was very unexciting but was tasty enough mixed with more flavoured Iced Tea. Not sure I will go there again.

The tropical fruits season has just finished so there's a heap of fruit in the freezer now. Bananas, mangos, lychees, bananas, dragonfruit and more bananas. Limes are just ripening now too.

Hi Plonklab, I've made some black tea and green tea wines and found them pleasant. Lemonade wines too and one of these days a lime tea combination will come. I appreciate the Aussie attitude and sometimes contribute on the Aussie homebrew forum. Hope I get the opportunity to visit your lands. I here there is still some elbow room down under. You found a good place here. Alot of talented people.

Hey Plonky, good to see another Aussie on here, and a fellow QLD'er too.

How bout this weather? Stinking hot record temps one week, ridiculous monsoonal rain the next!?!

Australia day was a wash out here on the Sunshine coast, it co-incides with my wifes b'day as well, so is usually a big celebration day for us. But we just had to hunker down at home, and sip mango cocktails.

Look forward to hearing some of your winemaking efforts, as I have a lot of the same fruits on my property.

Cheers mate
Tim
