Just ordered the Cellar Craft Showcase Old Vine Zinfandel with Grape Pack. Can't wait to get it going. But I want to do some skeeter pee first.

I'm gonna need a bigger carboy collection...

Anyone have experience with this kit and care to share your thoughts?

That's a very nice kit. It won't be ready to drink for 16 to 24 months, but it will be worth the wait.

I started with two carboys. I now have about 16, so yes, carboys do multiply.

I really want to make this kit, but alas, no buckets and no carboys free! Not that we have that many, but we are stealing amongst each other in the house between beer and wine making. Please keep us informed on the progress of this wine! Have a good one. Carolyn

I made this kit and at 2 1/2 years it's pretty good. In my opinion it definitely took 2 years to be ready to shine. Sampling at 18 months it was much more fruit forward than it is now. It was definitely drinkable at 18 but gets better. Except for extending the primary fermentation period I followed the instructions. No additional oak. I fermented to dry in the primary to extend the contact with the skins. I believe I transferred at 14 days.
