This morning I arrived at work to find a beautiful "package"...an
envelope/triangular box thing sitting by my computer. It wasmade by
hand with pretty paper, stamped with flowers, and tied with fancy ribbon.
Onthe outside it was stamped, "Too much of a good thing is a GOOD THING!" Insidethere were lots of dark chocolates and a folded note.
The note was a $25 gift certificate from FVW along with a thank you! It was from a teacher friend I had recently given
three bottles of Chardonnay to (her favorite!) but have given her other kinds of wine over the last few years. I asked her how she knew where I buy my wine gear. Her answer? "The corks of course! The name's right there!"

I really do love giving my wine to friends. Ihave neverexpected anything
in return except for a critique and maybe an empty bottle or 3! I'm still amazed and delighted!</font></span></font> It was an incredible surprise and a wonderful way to
start a Monday!

Thank you for sharing this story with us. I process a lot of gift certificates without names, so I don't always know where they end up. I am glad you got one of them and that you were rewarded for your generosity. Wine makers are a very unique breed.

That's super Joan! The surprise is nicer than the gift quite often. Definitely the thought shared in your honor for your generosity is what counts most. I hope in three or four years you can make some Chardonel wine for her with your grapes. They are very close to a Chardonnay. I still have my fingers crossed for mine this year. They are one of the last ones to bud break, so I can't tell how much new growth there will be from last years wood.

P.S.-the chocolate candy is almost better than the gift certificate- YUMMY!

Great story Joan, I have given away so much of my wines to people and just getting the bottle back is a blessing. I went through my bottles yesterday and noticed that Im getting low again for what I have left to bottle!
