Just curious if people here have had both MM and WE, and which do they prefer?...need to make a few "fluff" wines for Jan. 2011, thanks for the input.

Sorry, Ive only done the RJS Orchard Breezin Green Apple Gewurtz here and thats a good one.

In your experience is there one that people you know gravitate to more than the others, I just kind of assumed that the green apple was good due to it always being sold out, I have never tried an RJ kits yet, I'm open to doing one of those as well. Thanks

I have done mostly Winexperts due to local availability. But I now order mostly all RJS from George. I feel the RJS has more body and flavor.

Thats good to know since thats who I'm ordering from, I have done one WE blueberry pinot, and I have a Black cherry Shiraz in the hopper, I might just get the RJ Green Apple unless somebody can talk me into another white or blush. Thanks All

I made the W.E. Blueberry Pinot and thought it was very good but also made the RJS Blueberry Shiraz and it was even better according to everyone!

I love the RJS Green Apple Gewurtztraminer (for this type wine--it's my favorite).

I recently made the RJS Green Apple Gewurtztraminer and my friends have almost drank it all up. Even people who are not really wine drinkers like this one. I also made the Blueberry Shiraz and it was a big hit. For a quick drinker, you can't beat these RJS kits.

I have made a few MM Summer Breeze Green Apple Rieslings - OMG, what a hit.

Blueberry Shiraz - too sweet for me.

Black Cherry Shiraz - another OMG - they inhale it.

These I call me 'girly' wines. Cause if you serve this, you'll get all the ladies you can handle.

VERY popular with the guests.

Now I can't wait to order a Green Apple Gewurtztraminer.

Yeah so just a little update, I went ahead and bought the RJ orchard breezin kit, and OMG is it good!!, I'm not a big white wine drinker, and don't like most wines that are sweet, but this wine hits my pallet just right, best one yet by far, it was the first RJ kit I have tried, I will be trying some other flavors along with there normal wine selections, they have me hooked. :)

I put about 5.25 lbs of sugar in mine to get it to 1.085 sg. and half the Fpack up front.

If you're adding 1-2 gallons or more of water to the kit (a low-end kit), then you could dissolve the sugar in the water you'll be adding to the concentrate.

I have added smaller amounts of sugar (like 1 pound) to the must without dissolving first, and have never noticed any sugar that failed to dissolve after a couple hours.

I agree with adding part of the f-pack up front to add to the abvand cut the sweetness down a bit at the end. I would recommend making a simple syrup for adding sugar to your kit. This is done by bringing water to a boil and then adding your sugar to dissolve as you stir. You want to use one cup of water to two cups of sugar in your mixture. As you add this to your kit check your sg to ensure your adding the right amount.
