Been away from winemaking for over 25 years but after a recent heart attack (thankfully very minor) and retiring after over 41 years of working as a chemical engineer, I now get the distinct pleasure of winemaking again. I'll start with just a few wine kits to get back into the swing of things and I'll have to inventory my equipment. I'm certain there's some updating to do there! I am most looking forward to hearing the experiences and suggestions from others I'm sure much more knowledgeable and practiced than I am at this stage. JerryF :dg

Welcome, glad to have ya. Sorry to hear about the ticker, but glad all turned out OK.
There's a good group here with lots of knowledge.

Welcome JerryF! Ahh, Sault Ste. Marie and north to Agawa Canyon...what a BEAUTIFUL area!

Yep, beautiful area for sure, just under about 4' of snow right now though! I'm originally from the Chicago area where we never really saw that much snow but used to it now after all these years.

Welcome aboard!!!

I appreciate all the welcome messages. I'm new enough on the site I don't really know yet how to send replies to multiple people. I noticed for instance that yourself ("My Wine List"), Runningwolf ("See what's happening in my cellar") and Julie ("Here is what I've done"), are all able to have some kind of active link where folks can go and see what it is you've been making, i.e. what you might have in a primary fermenter, what may be in your secondary, what's being bulk aged and perhaps what you've already bottled. If I wanted to do that as well (new, so I only just restarted and only in my secondary with a sangiovese chianti), I cannot find anywhere that tells me how to add one of those to my profile. Seems like I might be interested in doing that at some point. JerryF:dg

Wow, from Chicago to Sault Ste. Marie, that had to be a big change!
