Hello there! I'm an experienced beer and mead homebrewer, and I'm about to start making the transition into wine. I found this forum by an internet search, and it seems promising.

Welcome to our site and glad to have you here. If you have been brewing beer for some time Im surprised you didnt find us earlier. We are the sister site to Homebrewtalk.com which is the largest Brew forum out there and we are probably the second biggest wine forum but much friendlier then #1 IMO. We strive on not bashing you for asking questions that have been asked before and encourage you to ask the question instead of saying "Go search it as its been asked before"! Almost every search function for forums is very temperamental and needs you to type in the exact phrase or youll come up with nothing or just about everything under the moon and youll spend all day searching the results when we could have just answered the question in seconds!!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I haven't done much internet interaction in the beer brewing forum, which is probably why I hadn't found you sooner. I've been active for a little while over at gotmead, but I have just gotten back going again after having been out a while.

I'm in the planning and research phase right now - studying to get a handle on the basic differences between mead making and wine making. I'd like to get my first batch planned and down in July or August. I've got to sell my wife on the second refrigerator first :)
