Hope everyone has a great one and remembers the service of out Troops everywhere.

Thanks to all the men and women who have served to make this the great country it is today. God bless you!!!

This is the day we set aside to remember all those who have given their lives in the many wars we have fought. I can still remember when it was called "Decoration Day" because we all went to the graves of relatives and "decorated" them with flowers and flags.

We all should take the time to reflect on those sacrifices. It always occurs to me that we can never know how many doctors, scientists, artists and national leaders were lost before they achieved their potential. How many children had to grow up without aparent or beloved sibling? How can we ever know the massive potential for good that was snuffed out long before its time? We should think about this more than one day a year.

"we should think about this more than one day a year "
10-4 to that. These guys and gals are away from their families, sacrificing all year long so lets make this a special day but think about them every time you see someone in uniform or see our GRAND OL FLAG.

I also hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable day.

No time to relax today. I just took down the old deck at parents house and built all new all today. Started at 8:00 am and just got home 45 minutes ago and took a shower as I was drenched right down to my socks!!! Thank goodness for the guy that invented the air compressor and nail gun and all the other power tools or this probably would have taken a week! Thanks to all who served and are serving who make this possible to be free like this!!! My Brother -in-law is enlisting again and will be going back to Iraq again (I think thats where he said he was going) in a few weeks! God bless him!

Thanks to all of you who have served our country in any capacity.

I too, remember "decoration day" and its meaning of fresh flowers on graves, as well as when people used to say a person was "in the Service," because they knew what "Service" meant too!

After spending the day at the Western Montana Veterans Cemetery and
putting fresh-cut flowers on my career Air Force (Chief Master Sergeant)
Dad's grave, which is so new the headstone hasn't yet arrived, I just
wanted to hear Toby Keith and his tribute to veterans:

That was great, Dave. Thanks.

We have some pretty wonderful young men and women in this country that get overshadowed by others that get "famous" for the wrong reasons. About 7 years ago my wife and I stopped all contributions to any organization other than our military through a site called www.anysoldier.com. We enjoy making up "care packages" for the troops and the letters we get in return really tug at your heart. The men and women are so grateful for anything they get, even just a letter. But I remember the things I missed from "the World" when I was in the Service, so I fill the boxes with peanut butter, jerky, drink mixes, gum, canned fruit, soap, deodorant, etc.

If you are so disposed, Iencourage you to visit the site and take a look for yourselves. If you want to send something to a service person, you can choose the service, man or women, theater of operations, State their unit is from, etc. You can even sort the names by people who have not had responses. It is really a wonderful site.
