With an overload of fruit from our plum and pear trees, I decided to try and make wine. I'm a complete newbie, but I'm hoping I've found a forum to ask my dumb questions, and become educated. Thanks very much, and I ask for your patience in advance!

Hi Ree, and welcome to the forum. I don't make wine from many fruits other than grapes, but you will find a wealth of information under the sub heading "Country Fruit Wine Making" in the Wine Making section. There are a number of people who make both pear and plum wine, so you have come to the right place.

Welcome to the forum. That is kinda the way I started out. The old pie cherry tree had a bumper crop and decided to use more of them making wine instead of wasting them. Trying pear for the first time this year and have wild plums in the freezer. They are a first too. Will get them started sometime this winter and see what happens. Arne.
