Hello everyone. I am not entirely new to wine making, I have done 2 wine kits in the past. One Riesling and one Chardonnay. I haven't made wine for about 6 years now but I am ready to get started again.

Welcome. Hey, you guys have top soil in that part of the state, right? :)
 
Yes, our valley areas are really fertile from the Mississippi. The hilltops are plagued with clay type soil though. The ground matrix changes quite a bit throughout Marion and Ralls county. In the southern part of my county there is a little bit of everything.
