Well I'm a cattle rancher and pecan grower. Don't know much about wine but what my wife drinks, LOL. But I have over 150+ wild plum trees also known as Sloe Plums. We make jelly from them, but would they make wine??

I would bet very good wine. Does your wife like sweet or semi sweet wine. In my opinion, most fruit wine (non grape) tastes better semi sweet or sweet.

Welcome

oh man, wish i had a nickel for everyone i ate....if you talking the wild red plums with not pit.....they would make an excellent wine....
what part of louisiana you from....
maybe trade you some blackberries for some plums....
You want a recipe for that wild plum.

We have PLENTY of blackberries too, from Colfax (central LA.) These trees produce about 20 gal. of plums per tree. I don't prune or fert. them. We get 5 gal a year and make 20 pints of jelly.

We are 2 miles west of Iatt Lake, up 71 on both sides of the road. No don't have equipment, but plenty of plums.:b
