Hi, I am a new member to the group, I did a bit of wine making a long while ago. We have now moved, and i am now retiredand, wehave a bit more room now for storage ect.
I was thinking of using tinned fruits, (from a old Boots book), are they any good?

Welcome to WMT!

Wine can be made from pretty much any vegetable/fruit, including root vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Any fruit that has been preserved in any way may produce a wine that smells and tastes different from the fresh fruit. This not necessarily a bad thing, but is something to consider. If you are happy with the result, then you are successful.

welcome to WMT

Canned foods or juices as well as concentrates and dried fruit have been used for making wine. Practically speaking if I have a skid of a concentrate coming from South America or China and formulate it in a factory, or if you have a retail size, there isn't a lot of difference. Foods are a global industry. My limitations are many things I do in a factory add water, the fruity flavors decrease with age, and color tends to brown. To compensate I might use apple or white grape juice in a recipe instead of water.
