I made a 5 gallon batch of blackberry today. I had my 7 1/2 year old grand daughter "helper". I had poured about 3/4 of my sugar syrup, finished adding the water and checked the s.g. Just needed to add a little more sugar. I got called to the phone and when I got back I noticed the floor was a little wet but didn't think that much of it. I only had a little syrup left so I dumped the rest of it in the primary and checked the s.g. again and lo and behold it read 1100. I realized that my helper had added syrup also. I asked her about it but she didn't seem to be able to answer. Anyone have a jet plane?

LOL, well Wiz you could add more blackberries and water and make it a 6 gallon batch or just drink small amounts when it is done? :)

Make yourself a low alcohol batch and blend them later.

Actually Julie, it was a 6 gallon batch. Why do you recommend drinking only a little bit at a time?

That shouldnt be ta bad for a Blackberry as many make that one much higher with Ports. You are looking at around 13.5% abv at that.

LOL, because you will have a higher alcohol content and you don't want to get a buzz on too fast or do you?
