So it looks like no one took my hints about the Vinmetrica Malic test probe for Christmas.
No big deal I guess, it really isn't that expensive, but I've always had a rule when buying new products or downloading upgrades, or new operating systems (yes, I am going to make my long winded point..lol), let others be the test crash dummies for the new products, sit back and wait until they discover what potential bugs are in the systems.
The one thing that concerns me about the Malic testing probe is that not only is it a fresh release, it only comes with enough reagents set and reaction vials to perform 5 tests, nor do I see on their website where I can order more, or the price for replacement reagents.
I have 8 carboys to test real soon. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing but positive experiences dealing with the SC-300, and Vinmetrica's customer service.
I think I may buy another very much needed 6 Gallon Vadai Barrel first, and use my Chromatography test kit, it stinks, but it is easy to use, and hasn't failed me yet.

Rich,
Thanks! I agree, the reagents are a bit pricey, for those of us that make multiple batches of reds that go through MLF, this may or may not be a good option.
I guess 24 dollars for 8 batches of wine isn't that bad, I'll sit back until spring and see what kind of feedback others give it.
In the mean time....I believe that I'll be buying another barrel.

Tom, PM RunningWolf about the tester. They are selling it now and he had been given access to test it back quite a while ago. He can let you know all about it.
