Long story short. I took about 375 ML out of some wine that had been in the clearing stages for about 1 week. I had to rush it and take some of the clear stuff from the top of the carboy, for my father in-law. He will probably be on cancer medications next week for his throat cancer, and I wanted him to be able to taste some of my first batch. It was his father that got me interested in wine making. Anyway, I racked off 375 ML of the clear stuff fom the top of the carboy, and then topped up the carboy from some of the leftovers from adding the F-Pack. The stuff I added in was a little cloudy, but I'm hoping that it will clear out, if given time. If all else fails, I'll buy a filter and that should take care of it.

Anyway, he was the recepient of the first official bottle of wine. It lasted all of 30 mins before the cork was popped and the contents sampled. He gave it a thumbs up.

Now if the rest of the carboy will clear, it will be a case of, no harm, no foul.

I think it will be fine BPoland. And I will keep your Father-In-Law in my prayers for successful treatment for his cancer

Thanks, It doesn't look too good for him, but we are wearing out our knees looking for the best outcome we can get.

You have done far more good than harm.

I concur...awesome gesture on your part. Our thoughts are with you and hope for the best for him.

From a survivor, I wish him the best of luck and a full remission. It was a very nice thing that you did.
