I inherited 3 black/ blue grape vines with the horse I bought 3 years ago. How can I ascertain what varietals they are? My local extension office stopped doing so analysis so, I believe I’ll have zero luck getting them to test them for me.
Is there a lexicon that I can use to compare these attributes?start with leaf shape and size (ampelography)
then distance between nodes
then skins - e.g. slip skin or not
then berry size
then seedless/not seedless
Smoke, I suggest getting on YouTube and searching "Identifying grape varieties" and you will get a number of replies.
