I have kept a container of KMeta solution next to my fermenter and I dip my tools in it and shake it off before dipping in the must. But how long will this solution stay effective?
I've read that the life span of meta solution is 6 months, BUT, it really depends on the temp that it is stored at (the higher the temp, the shorter the life span will be), and how many times you open the container, as it comes into contact with oxygen, it’s getting oxidized. I was always told that when you open the lid and still get a powerful whiff, then it is good to go. That being said, buying kmeta in bulk is relatively inexpensive and so it usually doesn't sit around long before a new batch is made.
