They've been talking about doing this for a while, its a good idea and much better then burning and chemicals.
One of my boys did either a science fair or cub scout project (many years ago) and they used a combination of hay and cotton to clean up the oil.
Glad it has not reached us in Florida yet - but what a mess.

I heard this AM on the morning local news that some oil had already begun to wash up in Florida.
