Hi all,

New to making wine. Made a few batches of beer a decade or so ago. Planning to start my first wine batch, RJS Cru Select Aussie Chard tomorrow.

Any hints or tips to making a successful batch would be appreciated. Looking to make a smooth, rich, vanilla, butterscotch style, so any tips to achieving that would be great. Also, if there is some tool or template for recording the recipe and process, would love to start off by keeping great notes so I can learn from my mistakes.

Many thanks and looking forward to getting to know you all,
MIWino

Welcome to WMT. If you scroll down the main page to Calculators, wine logs, and go there, there are a couple of logs you can look at. Good luck withit, Arne.

Welcome.

My advice is to always buy the better kits. Typically, the better kits make a better wine.
Be sure to follow the directions and don't take shortcuts. Once fermentation is over, always keep the wine container (carboy) topped off.

Lots of other bits of advice you will learn from following the forum.
