Im switching over from Comcast cable to AT&T DSL so hopefully it will be painless and quick but usually never is. Ill probably be doing this tomorrow night after work so Ill leave you all in good hands as there is a lot of knowledgeable people here. Cant wait to be back with a modem that does not get stuck every time as my Linksys does right now and when I have a problem I only have to speak to 1 company instead of listening to 1 say the others product is at fault and to call them just to hear them blame the other.

Went to install everything and thought maybe I should check and see if they did what they were supposed to do (probably just a matter of flicking a switch at their main office) and they didnt so I have to wait till Monday but thats no big deal as Im still on with Comcast until I tell them to cancel. Glad i checked before uninstalling the modem and router to install the new stuff!

Isn't that great, it takes them their good ole time to ( connect ) access, but see how quick they throw the switch if you forget to pay them

Been there with this company 1 year ago when they didnt enter a check sent to them and they disconnected at the pole. If there was another company to go to I would but Im trapped between 2 companies that just dont know how to be human anymore. At least I have service now or Id be ripping into someone something fierce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wade, lots of luck with your conversion. We switched from cable to DSL and are disappointed with the speed. Also it took AT&T about 2 months to get their act together. The initial installer put a filter in the wrong place and it was multiple visits later that someone noticed it.


They were new to our area and kept blaming the multiple outages on the central ofice.

Wade, My sister switched to comcast and lost her email account, She has been in contact with comcast and they lost her original email sign in and all of her addresses and that was 2 wks ago.....and that is withComcast.....Good Luck!!!!

Ive had both at this residence and neither was any faster or slower, the only thing thts killing e right now is this stupid new Linksys router as it is way slower then my previous 1 but AT&T will replace that with an all in 1 modem/wireless router so Ill have less clutter also.

We have dsl and it extremely fast.when it starts to slow just call the phone company and they will tell you (you have the4.0we havereleased 4.25 and4.5so basically your two upgrades behind.you'll have to upgrade to be as fast as you were before .Its only $12.50 moreplus state ,federal & local taxes .)

Im back in business now and much happier without the router taking up additional space as my modem has its own built in wireless router and is actually smaller then the previous modem before. Now I can post without having to try it 3 times every time.
