Hello everyone! I am from Macomb Township, Michigan and home winemaking has become an obsession ;)

I started my first kit mid March (Wine Expert World Vineyard Italian Sangiovese). It is currently in the bulk aging in the carboy. About a month later I picked up a Chilean Malbec juice bucket (and another carboy). It is currently undergoing ML fermentation. Just today I picked up a Wine Expert Selection Chilean Sauvignon Blanc kit (I wanted to go up to the next level of kit) and an additional carboy. It is undergoing primary fermentation as we speak.

I've been reading everything I can get my hands on including scouring this forum. I look forward to learning from all of you.

Macuser - Welcome to the forum. I have been doing kit wines for several years, and have used this forum to research questions I have about this & that. There is a lot of experience here & they will let you know their opinion. As you go thru the wine making process you will learn by experience, but if you have any questions I encourage you to seek advice here. Sometimes the advice is very entertaining and educational. We all have made the same mistakes or had the same questions.

Macuser welcome to the obsession. Yes it can quickly get out of hand in some peoples eyes but just a hobby in ours. A lot of us are there.I find giving the wine away is the best part and making it second best followed by drinking it.

Simpsini, great response! There are many ways to get nearly the same results. Ask, then read the responses and follow the procedure you're most comfortable with. Yeah some of the responses get pretty funny, what's with that! I don't get those guys. Especially Julie, she's a bit off the wall.

Welcome Macuser. Winemaking is my favorite obsession. I have a few.
Dan I never get tired of giving wine to someone and the look in their eyes when they realize we can make some pretty good wine.

Welcome Macuser
This is a great hobby !! This forum is full of information - like winemakers yourself. I found that this forum have the nicest people around and are willing to help in every way that they can.

So ask away !!
