I decided to go fishing tonight with my little brother (he may be 30, but he's still my "little" brother). We got to the lake and we could see a storm to the south, but it was heading east and away from us so we thought it wouldn't be a problem. We shoved off and I think we got a whole 10 minutes of fishing in when we saw a very dark, not so friendly looking cloud coming straight for us and it seemed to be doubling in size every minute. We flew back to the landing at full throttle and barely made it back as the front rolled overhead.....then we saw funnels. First a few, then more. I had my cell phone with and started snapping pictures as it went east. If I can figure out how to get the pictures off the phone (I'm a dunce when it comes to electronics) I could show you some time lapsed photos of what appears to be a tornado touching down. As soon as I got back in the truck and turned on the radio to hear my beloved MN Twins were getting spanked by Cleveland 12-1, an emergency radio broadcast came on to say that the radar had just indicated a tornado in southeast Clearwater county, 8 mileswest of Lake Itasca. It just so happens that I was in southeast Clearwater county and about 12 miles west of Lake Itasca at the time and I'm pretty sure that the photos I have are definitely what they were talking about. That was a close call...... Edited by: whino-wino
