Wow. Way to be an a$$-hat.
These guys are idiots (and I'm a pretty open minded girl). Their website is even worse than the ad.

Wow, Just plain wow! Can't wait to here what these guys have to say after they go bankrupt (and you know they will).

I thought the ad was funny.
Their ad goes along with the look and they are striving to be "not your parents wine" wine company.

I am no expert in the "business" but I would guess that they are just 1 of many, many small insignificant start up wine companies. Therefore they must do something to set themselves apart from the other "respectable" and "serious" companies.

But reading through the other ads I did find this: "Must have a sense of humor, be happy or at least fake it well…".
So this company sets it up from the beginning that they are an alternative to the starched, white shirt, stuffy wine guys!

So the mustache wine company took it slightly to the extreme, will probably create a little buzz and stay afloat for a bit longer.

but none of this matters unless their wine is drinkable.

And I don't know about anyone else, but just because a bottle has a stashe on it, will not trick me into buying it.

Wow...grow a pair and learn to take thing not so seriously...

Its funny and I hope they drive Mondavi out of business by getting the exact sales person they want.

Well that certainly is a "different" job ad! Interesting business model as well…… Last Summer when we were touring Eastern Washington Wine Country we stopped in on Sleight of Hand Cellars in Walla Walla. These guys are definitely a unique bunch of winemakers. They are definitely going for the Millennials and Heavy Metal Music Lovers in the world. They have fantastic labels and wine names, and……. the wines are all scoring very well on WS, WE, WA etc. They have a turntable in the tasting room and each day the music changes. I'll take their business model over those CA guys any day!

Anything with the name "Funkadelic" in the title has got to be good!!!!

If you ever tried to hire self motivated sales people you would understand the ad. We have spent countless hours training sales reps that don't pan out. The add was rude for sure. But the author is straight and to the point. Good salesmen have huge potential to make some serious $$$. Bad ones aren't worth squat. That being said I could never publish an ad like that. I like to think I'm classier than that.

I have the belief, and it is probably a bit naïve, that a wine should speak for itself. I shy away from trends. It has been my experience that the fancier and more unique the package, the lower the quality of the wine. There is a reason that Opus One does not have a mascot.

But, from a business point of view, I am sure that there have been incredible wineries that have gone out of business due to lacking sales. The common consumer looks for items that stand out. You market or you die.

Still, they do not have to be so "in your face" about it. Not dignified.

I agree with you that wines should speak for themselves. I feel the same about whiskey (boo jack daniels you over hyped swill!!!)

But I have no doubt someone will buy that bottle because there is a mustache on it. Just last week I had to attend a birthday party where all the plates and signs had mustaches on it. It is currently a fad.

but visuals and attitude can only get you in the door. If the product is lousy most people will not go back for more!
