Just scored a few 5 Gal. Carboys!

I just scored 3 - 5 gal. Carboys Used once in their original boxes for $50.00! SWEET!!!!!

You guys wont believe this but I was surfing craigslist and found "winemaking" supplies listed for $20. I drove an hour away (because im an addict) only to arrive and load my truck with two 6 gal carboys, 200 bottles, two bottle trees, a racking tube, a carboy washer, a hand corker, and a bottle rinser!!!!! $20 are you kidding me?! I offered the poor fool more money but he wouldnt take it. Thank you wine Gods!

Wow, that's awesome! I was going to tout about my score the other day, where I drove two hours to get three old mexican carboys and 15 cases of bottles for $40, but you make it sound like I drove too far and paid too much!

I got 2 - 5 gal italian carboys from a gal down the street for a case of SP.

Now I need more kits. My wife is not thrilled. She starting to call me a "cellar dweller"

BobR, where are you located? member post deals that they've found and share the loot!
I wouldn't have a problem "giving up" a carboy to a fellow wine maker, like any other hobby, the start up costs can hit you in the wallet pretty hard if you let it!
I am going to pick up 3 more 5 gallon carboys, and possibly the 2- 3 gallon carboys that my original source still has, he agreed to remove them from Craigslist and save them for me! (obviously I had to get a few more Juice Pails to fill them!!).

I checked Craigs list all over Arizona for home brew supplies, carboys, etc.... Nothing, not even a mention......Yep, you may be the only one making wine there!.....LOL

I bought the carboys back in November.
Unfortunately 3 carboys are not too many for me, I have approx. 16 - 20 carboys, between 3 gallon, 5 gallon, and 6 gallon carboys.
Where in Poughkeepsie are you?
Adams in Wappingers has 6 gallon for $34.00.
If I come across any deals, I'll pass them along to you.
If you are interested, the Hudson Valley Wine and Homebrew Club meets every two months at BenMarl winery, shoot me a message and I'll give you details.
